Hybrid Monte Carlo Simulation of Polymer Chains
We develop the hybrid Monte Carlo method for simulations of single off-lattice polymer chains. We discuss implementation and choice of simulation parameters in some detail. The performance of the algorithm is tested on models for homopolymers with shortor long-range self-repulsion, using chains with 16 ≤ N ≤ 512 monomers. Without excessive fine tuning, we find that the computational cost grows ...
متن کاملQuantum Monte Carlo studies of density functional theory
We review our variational quantum Monte Carlo (VMC) approach for evaluating the key quantities in the density functional theory of inhomogeneous many-electron systems, and describe the underlying simulation algorithm and its parallel implementation. We discuss the insights gained from our recent application of the method to the study of the density functional theory (DFT) of the strongly inhomo...
متن کاملA Sequential Monte Carlo/Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory
متن کاملA Wigner Monte Carlo approach to density functional theory
In order to simulate quantum N -body systems, stationary and time-dependent density functional theories rely on the capacity of calculating the single-electron wavefunctions of a system from which one obtains the total electron density (Kohn-Sham systems). In this paper, we introduce the use of the Wigner Monte Carlo method in ab-initio calculations. This approach allows time-dependent simulati...
متن کاملPenetrable-square-well fluids: analytical study and Monte Carlo simulations.
We study structural and thermophysical properties of a one-dimensional classical fluid made of penetrable spheres interacting via an attractive square-well potential. Penetrability of the spheres is enforced by reducing from infinite to finite the repulsive energy barrier in the pair potentials As a consequence, an exact analytical solution is lacking even in one dimension. Building upon previo...
